Pat Parelli, was born in California’s Bay Area. He was obsessed with horses at an early age, working in stables from nine years old. At 17, Pat was a natural bareback rider, good enough that he won the Bareback rookie of the year title in 1972. For the next 14 years, he traveled the rodeo circuit, driving to a different town every weekend to compete in various events. It was a young man’s life and Pat knew he had to find a career after rodeo.

Pat started a new way of training horses called Natural Horsemanship. Within a few years, he was the most famous horse trainer in the world.
