Legendary Apple CEO Steve Jobs never put a license plate on his cars. He got away with it legally thanks to a California loophole. Anyone with a brand-new car had a maximum of six months to affix the issued number plate to the vehicle. So Jobs would simply trade his silver Mercedes SL55 AMG for a similar one on the sixth month of his lease. Problem solved. No plate needed. While some speculate this was for privacy, it’s far more likely Job’s symbol of one-upmanship on the government. When you are rich and famous you too can stick to “the man”.
